Flourishing Ideas
It is fun to pay attention to every single one of your flowers. Don’t let one flower from a bouquet go to waste immediately because you can still take some measures to make your flowers last longer for long interior decoration. Flowers bring colour to the room. Follow these simple tips and have these beauties bloom for a longer time.
Here are our care guide and tips:
Clean your vase.
Keeping your water vase clean stops bacteria and viruses, which can destroy your cut flowers one by one, from forming. By properly cleaning it, you don’t want to leave your vase to air dry because these bacteria and viruses will invade another collection of your new bouquets in no time. You can use a quarter of warm water to purify your vase.
Change water regularly.
Every now and then, always change the water in your vase. For the flowers to remain fresh and prevent drying and wilting, it is important to keep a good amount of water. Changing water frequently often prevents a horrific, rotting smell from developing.
Clean and healthy water.
Another tip is to add some sugar into the vase. This helps nourish the flowers and improves the bloom opening. You could also add a small amount of vinegar or lemon and mix it well. This helps inhibit bacterial and viral growth and keeps your flowers fresher for a longer period.
Remove lower leaves.
Remove the leaves of your cut flowers so that there won’t be any touching the water. In any case, if leaves have been dried, remove them as soon as you notice them before placing the flowers back into the vase. This will help the fresh stems absorb the water more easily.
Use sharp knife to cut.
Avoid cutting the stems with a dull object as this can damage the tissue and prevent the flowers from absorbing water. Also, when the bottom end of the stem is to be cut, take an inch or 2 off in an angle when the stem is underwater.
Keep in good temperature
Do not put your cut flowers in direct sunlight so that the flowers will not dry out too fast.
Keep away from toxic environment.
Like humans, flowers are also prone to smoke and harmful materials, so we need to keep them safe from poisonous gases and radiation. They will be damaged by a toxic atmosphere so they must have new and clean air.
Remove bouquet cellophane carefully
When you buy a bouquet, always pay attention when removing the cellophane attached to it. Most bouquets have cellophane because it serves as a water supply during delivery to keep your bouquet fresh. When placing your bouquet in the vase, fill the vase with water, add food for the flowers, and place them in the vase. Keep your flowers away from the direct heat of the sun so they won’t die. Handtied flowers
If you have a handtied bouquet to be used during your wedding, just place it in a water-filled vase without untying it. However, if it is not used for this occasion, feel free to cut the stems, trim the lower leaves, and arrange the flowers in the vase filled with water. When arranging your flowers, it is best to place the shorter stems at the front and the taller ones at the back. Lastly, place your handtied flowers in a cool room or shaded area.
